Vincent Abbatiello
Treasurer
In September 2007, the Westbury Water District welcomed its newest commissioner to the board, Vincent Abbatiello.
A Westbury native, Abbatiello re-affirmed his commitment to his hometown in 1997 when he joined the Westbury Fire Department as a volunteer member.
Eager to further this dedication, he became chairman of the Fund-Drive Committee in 2001, where he continues to lead the group in its efforts to obtain charitable donations.
Abbatiello escalated through the department ranks and is now captain of Hook and Ladder Company #1, where his responsibilities include maintaining training records, enforcing company and department rules and regulations, managing fire alarms, company drills and directing meetings.
He also serves as senior advisor to Explorer Post "960," a junior fire department program for boys and girls ages nine through 18.
An accountant by trade, the Hofstra University graduate works as a supervisor at Schultheis and Panettieri, LLP, Certified Public Accountants in Hauppauge.
His accounting experience is in the field of labor unions and ERISA employee benefit funds, which includes auditing, accounting and tax services to a broad range of not-for-profit organizations.
Additionally, he has utilized his accounting expertise by providing tax assistance to neighboring senior citizens on a pro bono basis.
Residing in Westbury with his wife Heather, Abbatiello enjoys fishing, hunting and working at a local butcher.
Despite his busy schedule, he enjoys spending quality time with his family.
