Father Robert Abbatiello

Sacred Heart High School in Yonkers will honor three graduates, including Father Robert Abbatiello, O.F.M. Cap., pastor of Good Shepherd parish in Manhattan, at its Principal's Scholarship Dinner on Saturday, Nov. 14, at Beckwith Pointe in New Rochelle.

Father Abbatiello, Class of '78, is a priest of the Capuchin Franciscan order.

The newly named pastors are Father Robert Abbatiello, O.F.M. Cap., Good Shepherd, Inwood; Father Michael Banks, O.F.M. Cap., St. John the Baptist parish, Manhattan; Father Thomas Faiola, O.F.M. Cap., Our Lady of Sorrows, Manhattan; Father Bernard Maloney, O.F.M. Cap., St. Joseph's, New Paltz; Father Maurice Moreau, O.F.M. Cap., Sacred Heart, Yonkers; Father Joseph Juracek, O.F.M., St. Mary's, Obernberg; Father Daniel T. Kenna O.F.M., Holy Name of Jesus, Manhattan; Father Steven J. Pavignano, O.F.M., All Saints, Manhattan; and Father Charles McDonald, C.Ss.R., Most Holy Redeemer, Manhattan.

Father Robert Abbatiello, O.F.M. Cap., had served as pastor and guardian in Middletown, Conn., since 2002.He was director of Capuchin Youth and Family Ministries, Garrison, 1998-2002, and did vocation ministry, 1993-1998.Before that he served at two parishes in Brooklyn.He entered the Capuchins in 1982, made final vows in 1986 and was ordained in 1990.
