   Ms. Abayasekara currently resides in London, where she is a broadcast journalist and producer for BBC World Television and the BBC's award winning program, Hard Talk. Prior to joining BBC World Television, Ms. Abayasekara was with CNBC Asia, where she wrote and produced in depth political and business news packages. She also reported on technology for a weekly magazine show called Dot.com, as well as back-up anchored the station's hourly world news updates. Prior to CNBC, she worked as a reporter at Singapore's local TV station and hosted a weekly TV show Singapore @ Work, while also anchoring Business Day, a half-hour evening business news program. Ms. Abayasekara began her career in broadcast journalism as a reporter and anchor for MTV News Asia in Singapore, during which she covered the 1997 Hong Kong handover. Ms. Abayasekara was educated at the American University of Paris and at the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism in New York.
