   Carlos A. Abaunza was recently hired as CFO for Flagler Development Group, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Florida East Coast Industries.For the past year, Carlos has been acting in a consulting capacity at FECI.His prior experience includes senior financial and accounting positions with Knight Ridder (print and online media), World Fuel Services (worldwide downstream marketing of jet and marine fuel) and Citicorp (banking).
   
   Carlos holds a Bachelors in Business Administration with a major in Accounting, a Masters in Accounting, and an Masters in Business Administration.He is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Management Accountant, and a member of the American and Florida Institute of Accountants since 1983, and the Institute of Management Accountants.
   
   Carlos is a Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee for the American-Nicaraguan Foundation, a foundation providing aid to the poor and destitute in Nicaragua.
   
   Carlos has been a member of the FICPA since 1983 and a member of the MAP Section since 2007.
