   KENT F. ABADIE is Land Manager-Development, Land & Contracts for Shell Exploration & Production Company. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of New Orleans in 1980. His career began with Shell Oil Company in 1981 as Landman in the Eastern Onshore Land Division. Mr. Abadie has over 20 years experience in ownership rights and joint venture contracts relating to domestic U.S. and international upstream and midstream business segments of the oil and gas industry. Through the years he has been responsible for application of joint operating agreements covering the Gulf of Mexico development project portfolio, negotiated and authored/co-authored production handing agreements for shelf and deepwater hub Gulf of Mexico infrastructure, and created a business model and work process for marketing production processing ullage at Gulf of Mexico infrastructure. He was a member of the business opportunity identification team which lead to the formation of Shell business ventures in midstream E&P services, Gulf of Mexico telecom, mariculture and logistics sharing. Mr. Abadie negotiated and co-authored agreements supporting the 2001 global asset exchange involving assets situated in North America, Europe and Asia, as well as host government contract for the development and production of the Merluza Field offshore Brazil, being one of the earliest E&P developments in Brazil by a foreign company, which came to be a groundbreaking agreement for the development and production of a natural gas and condensate field in the country of Brazil. He has negotiated and authored host government contracts and joint operating agreements for the exploration, development and production of oil and gas fields in the countries of Brazil, Ecuador and the Bahamas. Mr. Abadie is Recipient of The President's Award for Premier Performance in 1994. He is a member of the Petroleum Landman's Association of New Orleans.
