Chuck Abadie, spokesman for PRCC, said enrollment is close to 1,500, but with another summer term in July, the enrollment numbers should increase.
Abadie said students in Hattiesburg are staying in the city rather than going to the main PRCC campus in Poplarville.
"I know we have some students who have enrolled in Hattiesburg, trying to get a jump on their college education for the fall," he said.
Abadie said 363 of the students enrolled are full-time students living on campus, but many students are choosing Hattiesburg as their residence.
"I think it's a convenience with gas prices, which is a big issue," he said."So our enrollment in Hattiesburg has been growing the last couple years. -
