Alma Johanna Aarhus, 92, of Kenmare and Minot, N.D., and formerly of Watford City, N.D., went home to be with her Lord on Feb. 7, 2004.

Alma was born in Watford City on June 24, 1911, to Jorgen and Anna (Oen) Aarhus who had recently immigrated from Norway to homestead in North Dakota.

Alma was the family historian, maintaining contacts with her large extended family throughout the world, as well as with many valued life-long friends, colleagues and former students.She was known for her youthful spirit and love of children, counting her teaching days as the happiest of her long life.She had a passion for serving her Lord and for sharing her faith, and an abiding hope of one day seeing Him face to face.Her family cherishes memories of her, and shares her joy that that hope is now realized.
