   â- Local business owner Jan Aalberts was recently appointed chairwoman of the National President's Assembly by the National Association of Women Business Owners. Aalberts is the outgoing president of NAWBO's Tucson chapter and owner of Sky House, a personal and business coaching firm. The announcement was made earlier this month at NAWBO's national conference in San Francisco. As chairwoman, she will oversee the 80-plus chartered chapter presidents and presidents-elect. â- The ¡Vamos a Tucson!

   Jan Aalberts has been business owner in the Tucson region for the past twenty years. As the principal of Sky House, this expert facilitator, personal/organizational performance and leadership coach has worked extensively with businesses, organizations, non-profits, governmental entities and their teams and leaders both regionally and nationally.
   
   Her local clientele has included the University of Arizona International Affairs Division, Tucson Better Business Bureau, Pima County Attorneys' Civil Division and Victim Witness Program, Tucson Pima Arts Council, the Council on Aging Foundation, and numerous additional business leaders and organizations in the Tucson area and around the country. She has also worked with over 20 Native American tribes across the country.
   
   Jan is a former board member of the Northern Pima County Chamber of Commerce and has served on the Greater Tucson Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Board of Directors since 2001. She is the current Immediate Past President of the Greater Tucson NAWBO Chapter. She recently joined the NAWBO National Board of Directors as the Chair of the National Presidents Assembly. Additional activity in the national association includes serving on the National Public Policy Council, the National Political Action Committee Board of Directors, the Governance Learning Community and Bylaws Task Force . At the local level she was honored with the "Bridgebuilder Award" in 2004 and was elected "Business Woman of the Year in 2001. She is also a founding member of the Tucson Consultants Association.
   
   Jan is an actor in the Tucson theater community, founding member of NAThalia Stage Ensemble, and a Senior Partner with One On One Partnership, a mentoring program for high-risk youth. Before moving to Tucson, she served on the Tri-Community Counseling Center Board of Directors, Oracle Historical Society Board of Directors, Pinal County FEMA Board, and served as the President of the Pinal County Board of Health.
