Panorama, B.C. - December 11, 2013 - Steve Paccagnan, CEO of Panorama Mountain Village (PMV) announced today that its new community, Trappers Ridge, has sold $7.14 million in new homes in the last six months. 17 homes from the first phase of 21 homes have been sold since the sales centre opened earlier this year. "This is a significant economic indicator that it is starting to pick up in the Columbia Valley. Trappers Ridge is very popular and in demand. We've seen remarkable sales with 80 per cent of home sites already sold. Deep servicing was completed in spring of this year and construction on the first home will start in 2014," says Paccagnan. According to the BC Real Estate Association's quarterly report released October 2013, active MLS listings in the Kootenays are down by four per cent over last year, but Trappers Ridge is leading the Valley with positive sales growth. The $20 million development is designed for lifestyle lovers and skiers who want slopeside access. Paccagnan says that home buyers, especially Calgarians, are excited about Trappers Ridge because there's no other affordable quality ski-in ski-out development like it at Panorama Mountain Village. Owners at Trappers Ridge can purchase a lot and new home from $459,000. Average prices at Panorama Mountain Village for other single-family dwelling homes range from $650,000 to $2 million. New Dawn Developments is one of the reasons Trappers Ridge is so popular. "New Dawn has the track record as the preferred builder in several mountain communities throughout the BC Rockies," says Paccagnan. Paccagnan says that Trappers Ridge home buyers are primarily from Calgary and other parts of Alberta, "Calgarians love Panorama and are excited they can now afford to own a quality second home at Trappers Ridge at a good price."
