Mottesi is founder and CEO of Osvaldo Mottesi Renewal Ministries, Inc., a non profit organization committed towards the holistic mission of the church.He is also Professor Emeritus of Religion and Society at Northern Baptist Theological Seminary.Osvaldo was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he was ordained to Christian ministry.He received a Bachelor of Science from the "Instituto Politécnico Superior Otto Krause" in Buenos Aires, a Licentiate in Sociology from the "Universidad Argentina de Ciencias Sociales", a Master of Divinity from the "Seminario Bíblico Latinoamericano" in Costa Rica", a Master of Theology from Princeton Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Philosophy from Emory University.
Osvaldo Mottesi has served as pastor and missionary in Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica and the United States.During more than four decades he has developed a fruitful ministry as a preacher, teacher and conference leader throughout the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia.Since 1969 he has been involved in theological education, having served as professor and academic dean at the "Seminario Bíblico Latinoamericano"(1969-1979).He founded and directed the Hispanic Studies Program of Northern Seminary (1979-2000), where he continued to teach until 2003.Osvaldo was a visiting professor at the "Seminario Internacional Teológico Bautista" in Cali, Colombia; the "Seminario Bíblico de Colombia" in Medellín; the "Universidad de Costa Rica" in San José; the "Facultad Internacional de Educación Teológica" in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Ecuador, Mexico, Japan, Canada, and Spain; the "Seminario Evangélico de Venezuela" in Caracas; the "Universidad de Salamanca", Spain; the "Seminario Bíblico de Madrid", Spain; Texas Christian University; Vision College in Puerto Rico, New York and Miami, the "Seminario Evangélico de Teología" in Matanzas, Cuba, the Oblate School of Theology in San Antonio, and the "Seminario Teológico de España" in Castelldefels, Barcelona.
Among his publications in several languages, Osvaldo is best known for his book Predicación y misión: una perspectiva pastoral (Preaching and Mission: A Pastoral Perspective), now in its fifth edition.
Dr. Osvaldo Mottesi is married to Beatriz Clara Pluis.
