Zane Grayson Porter was born in 1983 in Texas, attended elementary school in Pennsylvania, and attended middle school and high school in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
In high school Zane
was in the FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), NHS
(National Honors Society), Campus Ambassadors
, and played baseball, basketball, football, and golf.
As a Christ follower, Zane
has traveled to multiple lands to spread the love of Jesus.
In college, Zane
married Tara Hoffman and have since had two children (Bryson and Ashlyn).
At WBU, Zane also played baseball, worked at Pizza Hut and worked as a youth minister.
In 2009, He graduated from The College at Southeastern (Wake Forest, North Carolina) with a Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies.
In order to pay for graduate school, Zane worked at the United Parcel Service in Raleigh and as a youth minister.
After graduating, Zane
pursued a teaching license with NCTeach at North Carolina State University
and became licensed to teach English/Language Arts in grades 6-12.
He worked for Vance County Schools for five semesters teaching seventh grade language arts, and is currently teaching English III (American Literature) and Speech/Debate at East Wake School of Health Science in Wendell, North Carolina.

as an outstanding teacher in Tribute to Teachers in 2010.
Zane is a member and small group leader of North Wake Church in Wake Forest, North Carolina where he lives.
loves to be with his
family, read books, watch movies, play golf and disc golf, and play basketball and baseball.
