Dr. Yolanda Truckenbrodt was a cadet in the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps program at ASU, winning the Best Drilled Flight Award in 1978.She was a member of the Arnold Air Society and was named Outstanding Pledge in the fall of 1979.Upon her graduation from ASU with a Master of Business Administration degree, she was commissioned in May of 1980.Truckenbrodt received a Master of Public Administration from the University of West Florida in 1987 and a Doctor of Public Administration at Nova Southeastern University, Florida in 2000.
Dr. Truckenbrodt entered active duty as an officer in 1980 as a Program Manager for development and production of Turbine Engine Monitoring Systems, landing gears, brakes, struts, nacelles, hydraulics, fuel and environmental subsystems in support of the KC-135 aircraft upgrade.In 1984, she became an Electronic Warfare Program Manager acquiring Modular Threat Emitter Simulators for the Air Force and the United States Navy.She was also the Program Manager for the Red Flag Measurement and Debriefing System Upgrade.From 1989 to 1992, Truckenbrodt was assigned as the Program Manager for the Improvement Planning of Airborne Warning and Control Systems, developing roadmaps for long-term E-3 aircraft growth, and outlined modernization plans for system enhancements to the AWACS fleet.Her last assignment prior to retirement in 1998 was at the Directorate of Plans and Programs, Air Force Materiel Command at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.She was a Program Analyst for Ballistic Missile Defense and Base Realignment and Closure and also served as a Congressional Liaison Officer between the Command and Members of Congress and their Staff.
In addition to numerous military decorations, civilian honors, and community civic service awards, Truckenbrodt has received the 1983 Outstanding Young Woman of America®, 1987 Okaloosa County, Florida Career Woman of the Year, 2002 Who's Who in the World®, and National Women's History Month Honoree in the Florida Federal Women's Program.Dr. Truckenbrodt competes in Summer Biathlons and is also a marathon runner.
