Wilma PesaventoProfessor Emerita, Department of Physical EducationProfessor Emerita Wilma Pesavento '49 AHS joined Navy Pier in 1950 as professor and head of the Department of Physical Education, where she oversaw the professional preparation program for physical education majors.After Chicago Circle Campus opened in 1965, Pesavento continued to serve as physical education professor and department head and was also appointed director of graduate studies in physical education.Along with holding several administrative positions, she taught courses on the history of "sport and play" among Native Americans and 19th century Pullman factory workers.Before retiring from UIC in 1984, she received a Ph.D. in education from Northwestern University.
