William Marion "Tubby" Wilcox
William Marion "Tubby" Wilcox reached his
heavenly reward August 12, 2005 at his
son's house in Santa Fe, Texas.He
was born August 1, 1919 in Huntsville to Archie Preston Wilcox and Fla Wheeler Wilcox.He
had been a Galveston County resident for over 50 years.
Tubby was a member of the Central Christian Church
in Galveston and a Master Mason, 32nd degree of Tucker Lodge #297, AF & AM, in Galveston, where he
was initiated on March 4, 1955.He
had obtained the honor of being a 25-year Certificate Man within the Masonic Lodge.He was also a long standing member of the Sons of Hermann, the Am-Vets Big Thicket Post, and the VFW Auxiliary #7105 in Fredricksburg, Texas. Tubby went to work for the Santa Fe Railroad in 1941 but was called to defend his country by the US Navy.
service during World War II, he
returned to work at the Santa Fe
retired in 1980 after almost 40 years of employment.
