Her appointment was announced by Interim Executive Director William L. Schrauth.In the post Squadrito assists the Foundation's senior program officer in making staff-level recommendations about the disposition of requests for support, providing information about grantmaking procedures to nonprofit groups throughout the two-county area, helping nonprofit executives and other agency representatives develop and strangthen individual requests, and analyzing and assessing the impact of grants.Prior to joining The Community Foundation she served as Director of Community Building and Director of First Call for Help with the United Way of the Greater Utica Area.She holds a master's degree in business administration and a bachelor's degree in journalism from Southern Illinois University and teaches report writing, technical communication and computer software documentation classes at the SUNY Institute of Technology in Marcy.She has been active with a host of professional organizations, including Leadership Mohawk Valley, Metro Utica Business and Professional Women, and the International Association of Business Communicators."We are delighted to have a person of Jan Squadrito's qualifications and capabilities join our staff," commented Schrauth, "and are excited about the valuable insight she brings to the Foundation."

Schrauth , retired president of the Savings Bank of Utica , has been named interim executive director of The Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties , Inc..His appointment was made by the Foundation's board of directors and announced by board president Milton Bloch.Schrauth will serve until a permanent successor is recruited to replace Gordon M. Hayes , Jr. , who left the directorship July 25.Bill's experience in business , in philanthropy and as past president of the Foundation will help ensure that our progress and service to our donors and community will continue uninterrupted during the interim period , said Bloch.
