William E. 'Bill' Smith
William E. Bill Smith , 85 , of Bella Vista , Ark. , died Monday , Sept. 17 , 2001 , at his home.He was born July 28 , 1916 , in Chicago , Ill. , to Thomas H. Smith and Ellen McNicholas Smith.
He moved to Bella Vista 24 years ago from Chicago.He worked for Illinois Bell for more than 31 years.He served as president of the Illinois Bell Credit Union , as social director of the Pioneer Central Council and as president of Macrone's.He was a charter member of St. Bernard Catholic Church , where he was in the Men's Club and served as a lector.He was a member of the Bella Vista Fly Tyers , the Men's 9-Hole Golf Association , Crime Watch and the Knights of Columbus , 4th degree.
He was preceded in death by a brother , Harry Thomas ; and two sisters , Cora Trager and Dorothy Cunningham.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years , Alice Smith.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday , Sept. 19 , at the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory , and a rosary will be said at 7 p.m..

William Edward Lovstad , 62 , of Seligman , Mo. , died Saturday , Sept. 15 , 2001 , at his home.He was born Sept. 3 , 1939 , in Algona , Iowa , to Emil Edward Lovstad and Phyllis Jane Coleman Lovstad.
He was self-employed as an electrician , retiring after 12 years.He was an alderman for the Seligman City Council and a member of the Democratic National Party in New Hampton , Iowa.He was a Lutheran.He was an accomplished craftsman who built his own home.He collected toy tractors and enjoyed gardening , canning and watching NASCAR races.
He was preceded in death by a sister , Marcella Westing.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years , Karen Lovstad , whom he married on Sept. 5 , 1958 , in Forest City , Iowa ; a son , Bob Lovstad of Pea Ridge , Ark. ; two daughters , Brenda Lovstad and Lynn Hampton , both of Seligman ; a brother , Larry Lovstad of Algona , Iowa ; three sisters , Linda Wirth of Bentonville , Ark. , Mary O'Rourke of Palestine , Texas , and Marlene Coleman of Luvern , Iowa ; 11 grandchildren ; and a great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday , Sept. 18 , at Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge , Ark..
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday , Sept. 19 , at the Seligman First Baptist Church with the Rev. Duane Corn and the Rev. Bob Scott.
