Our study leader is William Kloss, Director of Tours and co-founder of Washington Art Associates. Bill is an art historian who has lectured and written about many areas of European and American art. A resident of Washington, D.C., he holds advanced degrees in the history of art from Oberlin College and the University of Michigan, and was a Fulbright Scholar in Rome for two years. Bill served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Virginia at Charlottesville and an Exhibition Coordinator at the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service.

Bill was the principal contributor to Treasures of State (1991). He is also the author of a book on the fine arts collection of the White House entitled Art in the White House: A Nation's Pride (1992). By Presidential appointment, he is a member of the Committee for the Preservation of the White House. Most recently, Bill has completed a lecture series entitled Great Artists of the Italian Renaissance for The Teaching Company.
