William C. (Bill )Burgess
As a Rinehart Fellow, Burgess received his MFA degree from the Maryland Institute of Art, Baltimore, MD in 1975.
Prior to that he received art degrees from CU, Boulder and the Colorado College.
Formerly a painter, Bill has been doing sculpture for 40 years.
has worked with a variety of materials including Fiberglas, aluminum, wood and steel, and many of his
works contain found objects.
From 1982 until 1993 his
sculptures were polychromed using enamel paints.
Since then he
has concentrated on outdoor pieces which lend themselves more to the raw materials of weathered and stainless steel.
has had solo shows at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center
, the Sangre de Christo Arts Center and in galleries in Denver and Houston as well as group shows in Dallas, Oklahoma City, Scottsdale and Barcelona, Spain.
has done public art since 1987 and has pieces in Denver, Boulder Aurora, Manitou Springs and Grand Junction.
is represented in many private collections.

of Social Services, Kaiser Permanente, the MacDonald Corporation, Qwest, the Arvada Center for the Arts, and the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center
