Willi Fuchs studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Siegen where he obtained his degree as Dr.-Ing.
After lecturing at the University of Houston, Texas, until 1987 he was Head of the Department for Development and Quality Assurance at the Lemmerz Werke in Königswinter.
He was a member of the Executive Board of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Qualität e.V. where he served as President from 1996 until 1998.
He was President of the Accreditation Agency for Engineering, Computer Science Courses, Natural Sciences and Mathematics (ASIIN).
He was also President of the European Federation of National Engineering Associations (FEANI), now being its honorary president.
He is Executive Director and Executive member of the Board of VDI and publisher of VDI nachrichten.
is one of the keynote speakers who has already confirmed his
participation in the Chapter "Engineering Education for Sustainable Development".
