Wilbert Lai, Director and Past President of ACCE
Wilbert Lai has a B.Com (Hon.) degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and an MBA degree from the University of Minnesota in the United States of America. He is also a Certified Management Accountant.
He was a financial controller at Wonder Bread, Continental Can Canada and Xerox Canada. He taught at Centennial College and the School of Continuing Studies at the University of Toronto. He has served on the Advisory Council of ACCE. Wilbert was President of ACCE from 1998 - 2002 and co-founded the Chinese Canadian Entrepreneurs Awards in 1997.
He is on the Advisory Committee of Enterprise Toronto of the City of Toronto for Entrepreneurship. He was a member of the Tax Practitioners Consultation Group with CRA from 2001 to 2005. He is a founding member of the Asian Advisory Council of PepsiCo Canada in 2006. Wilbert also served on the Citizen Committee on Council Remuneration of The Town of Markham in 2005.
He was a Vice President of the Chinese Professional Association of Canada (CPAC) and its Education Foundation for four (4) years and is Advisor to SEAS Community Centre. He has been a frequent commentator on and columnist in media including Omni-TV, World Journal, Ming Pao Daily News and Sing Tao Daily.
