Wesley Hasty

SOUTH BERWICK, Maine - Wesley Y. Hasty, 78, of Emery's Bridge Road, died quietly Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001, at the family farm.
He was born June 21, 1923, in York, son of Clarence M. and Ethel Young Hasty.He graduated from Berwick Academy in South Berwick.
He served in the U.S. Army for two years during World War II in an infantry regiment in the European Theatre.
He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in South Berwick, where he had recently received his 50 year pin.He was also an active member of the South Berwick-Wells Christian Church.
He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and working on the family farm.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Emily Thurrell Hasty; four sons, Wayne and his wife, Beverly, Thomas and his wife, Betsey, Dwight and his wife, Andrea, and Bruce and his wife, Laura, all of South Berwick; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Zana Littlefield of Ogunquit, Carolyn Bragdon of Wells and Helen Perreault of Arlington, Va.

Visiting hours will be held today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, 26 Market St., North Berwick.
