Wes Thompson, Plant ManagerEaton Corporation, Hydraulics Division
will chronicle the transformation of the Gainesboro Operation from a plant that was struggling and slated for closure in the early 1990 s to a plant that has been recognized as world class and is growing.The plant was the sole winner of the Tennessee Quality Excellence Award in 2000.Subsequently, in 2001, the plant won the Eaton Business Excellence Award, the company s internal Baldrige-based award.The Gainesboro Operation has more than doubled in size in recent years.In 2003, a second plant was added in Gainesboro which doubled employment to 220 employees.Mr. Thompson

BIOGRAPHY:Wes Thompson began his career with the Aeroquip Gainesboro Machining Plant in 1985 as a Manufacturing Engineer.He served in a variety of support roles including Tooling Manager, Environmental Manager and Quality Manager before being promoted to Plant Manager in 1996.Aeroquip was acquired by Eaton Corporation in 1999.
In 2001, Mr. Thompson
also assumed responsibility for the Eaton Machining Plant in Petersburg, Illiniois.

wife Ruby have three children, two in college and one in high school.His
hobbies include travel, sports and family activities.
