"The holidays do bring many stresses, including worries about extra expenses and greater demands on time," says Wendy Buffett, M.D., a board-certified family medicine doctor who practices at Sutter East Bay Medical Foundation (SEBMF).
"But the holidays don't have to be hazardous to your health." Stop a meltdown by following Dr. Buffett's tips: "A good way for coping with stress is meditation," advises Dr. Buffett. "Practice sitting and breathing five minutes each day. "Make it a priority to eat 7-9 one-half cup servings of fruits and veggies each day," suggests Dr. Buffett. "Working out can boost your mood all day long," says Dr. Buffett. "Above all, take care of yourself, whether that's connecting with a friend, reading a book or taking a walk," says Dr. Buffett.
