I contacted my home inspector friend, Wayne Henson
with House Inspect (404-0300).Wayne
has done most of the home inspections my clients order and he
is fully trained on testing for meth and when I asked him about the cost he
emailed the following helpful information.
It depends upon how many areas they may have been cooking in or using meth products. At a minimum it is suggested that there be three tests at 75.00 p/test.1 for area where cooking might have happened, 2nd for area where ventilation may have been allowed such as a window or exhaust vent, 3rd has to be a zero test where we test lab and test procedures to make sure there is a negative sample showing no meth products.I always recommend multiple testing including walls, floors such as carpeting, counter tops, laundry room walls and ceilings etc. At a minimum of 3 and then the rest depends upon size of house and nature of house.
