grew up in the town Bloomfield, NJ. Raised in a musical family, his
mother Maybelle plays piano, clarinet, flute, and saxophone.His
brother Nathaniel plays drums, guitar, bass, and piano.By the age of seven Wayne learned to play drums, by thirteen he
At the age of fifteen, Wayne
began to understand the concept of spinning records.His
music journey started out in high school as a DJ, spinning local, and stadium parties.After high school, in 1986-87, Wayne
earned a spot as a DJ at a night club that was then recognized as Jersey's after hours hot spot called "Studio One" in north Newark NJ. Wayne's Saturday night mix parties exhibited house styled music by such producers as; Robert Owens, Fast Eddie, Marshall Jefferson, Adonis, Farley "Jack Master" Funk, and Chip E. Inc.
to name a few.
...While a DJ at the club, Wayne has worked in and around the likes of elite guest DJ's: Marshall Jefferson, and the one and only, Toni Humphries.
After DJ'ing a few years, Wayne
was inclined to produce his
has always loved Jazz music; and feels that Jazz is the most expressive music today.In doing so, Wayne
first turned to his
older brother Nathaniel who has been a complete influence / inspiration to date.Under the tutelage of his
developed a finer art of playing piano.
In 1990, Wayne
stepped into the spotlight and hit pay dirt with the really double A-sided release "The Warning/The Final Frontier" under the name "Logic" on Strictly Rhythm records.In the 90's, this new style of underground house was the perfect mix of classical piano overtones on top of a Chicago house styled rhythm track, the perfect slice of uplifting, soulful, underground dance music.
Since then, Wayne
has been producing music for record labels around the globe.Currently he
is dedicating time to both his
own projects and those of emerging artists and established producers alike, helping them to reach their audience as well as realizing their own artistic visions. Wayne Gardiner
also owns Close Cut Recordings Studios West Orange, NJ.Still producing/remixing projects, Wayne
now brings you CIMA RECORDINGS.
