...Dr. Walter CrouchDr. Crouch became Interim Pastor of First Baptist Church on January 24, 1999, following the retirement of Dr. Frank Hawkins.Dr. Crouch
is a native of West Palm Beach, Florida.He worked in the construction industry, eventually becoming business owner of a construction firm specializing in commercial and industrial projects.He was called to Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he received his Master of Divinity and was valedictorian.Dr. Crouch received a Doctor of Philosophy from Baylor University.He has served as pastor for churches in Texas, Kansas, and Florida.He
has a strong commitment to a pastor/teacher dual career and has taught religion since 1988.He currently is Assistant Professor, Religion Department, Carson-Newman College.Dr. Crouch
is credited with numerous awards, publications, and presentations and has membership in several professional organizations.Dr. Crouch
resides in Jefferson City with his
wife, Pam, and children: Misty (21), Tabitha (16), and Dallas (11).
The interim pastor is expected to lead Sunday morning worship services, lead most Wednesday night Ministry of Encouragement services, lead some special Sunday evening services upon request, attend the weekly worship planning meeting, and interact with the Transition Planning Team Committee
.The interim pastor is not a candidate for pastor and is not expected to supervise the church staff, participate in visitation, counseling, or other committees, or conduct weddings or funerals.Other staff members will assume these duties with Dr. Ron Davis assigned responsibility for supervising the church staff.Dr. Crouch
