The exhibit opening included a short lecture by Dr. Dave Buschart, Professor of Theology and SSA liaison at Denver Seminary followed by a reception.
Check out photos of the artwork here. Patrons visit the gallery opening on January 30th Patrons visit the gallery opening on January 30th We took a bit of time to ask Dr. Buschart about the gallery. Here are his comments: SSA: How did you come to have an art exhibit on the theme of "Creation Care: Water"? Dave Buschart: Prompted by reports of the work of SSA and mindful of Denver Seminary's regional context, President Mark Young had identified water last year as the focus for the next phase of the seminary's creation care efforts. Dave Buschart: Because of the gallery's location, hundreds of students see the art every day on their way to class or chapel. And, it is not uncommon in the hours when classes are in the midst of session to see a lone student pondering one of the pieces in the quiet gallery hallway. SSA: Can you expound a bit on the interaction between creation care artwork and our faith? Dave Buschart: Many people have observed that the work of artists is that of creators working with and in response to the work of the Creator.
