2/9/07: I am thrilled to announce that one of my good friends, White Lion guitarist Vito Bratta, will join me live in the studio Friday 2/16/06 for the Q104.3/syndicated show!
I have had so many emails and calls about this great guitarist over the years and Vito has not spoken to anyone in probably more then 15 years.
will be live in the studio with me, playing tunes, taking calls and giving away copies of the brand new 2 CD White Lion Best Of from Rhino.
(not Vitto Bratta, Vito Brata, or Vitto Brata) wrote the best solos to come from the 80's rock era.
Vito Bratta- Lead Guitarist, Chief Songwriter
Vito Bratta (born July 1, 1961) was the lead guitarist and chief songwriter for White Lion from 1983 to 1992.
Vito's original style, consisting of fluid lead lines, unorthodox rhythm playing, and complex melodic solos gained him a worldwide legion of dedicated fans, as well as numerous awards, including Guitar World magazine's "Best New Guitarist" in 1988.
After White Lion
Vito produced an album for the band CPR on Atlantic records.
cult status and large guitar-based following, Vito
has not been involved in the music industry in any capacity since 1994.
According to a small piece in Guitar World magazine
is said to now be "working with computers".
Sources today report Vito's current interest is the real estate industry.
In 2003, Mike Tramp (former White Lion
vocalist) attempted to reunite with Vito
, but was unsuccessful.
According to our sources Vito
is still living in the Bratta family house in Staten Island and lives an unglamorous life by choice.
a family man who doesn't seem to want anything to do with fame or the music industry anymore.
silence has made for some interesting rumors- he's
a computer guy or works in a pizza shop, can't play music anymore because of a hand injury, is fat, etc.
There may be truth to the injury report but it isn't clear that it's a lingering injury and he
does still play guitar.
definitely not fat, as can be seen in recent (2005) pictures.
