, District 6 received a prominent endorsement from BusinessForce*, the political action arm of Central Florida Partnership last week.
"I am grateful and humbled by the business community's endorsement of my candidacy.
In addition to BusinessForce, Whittington also snagged endorsements from Town of Oakland Commissioner Joseph McMullen, Town of Windermere Mayor Gary Bruhn, City of Edgewood Mayor Ray Bagshaw, and City of Maitland Mayor Howard Schieferdecker signaling support across Orange County.
"It is with great pleasure that I endorse Mrs. Whittington," says Oakland Commissioner Joseph McMullen "I've met with her and am encouraged with the vision she has for District 6."
"Progress has been stagnant far too long.
District 6 is ready for a leader who can build bridges and create partnerships that produce real results."

A lifelong resident of District 6, Virginia Whittington, MPA is a graduate of Jones High School and the University of Central Florida.
She has served the Central Florida community for over 20 years through her work as Director of Regional Partnerships for Metro Plan Orlando (the regional transportation planning agency for Orange, Seminole, and Osceola counties) and previous work with Orange County Government.
She also currently serves on many community boards and councils and has run a nonprofit organization that helps young women for the last 13 years.
