Virginia Murphy, 81, Ellsworth, died.Virginia Murphy, 81, Ellsworth, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006.She was 81.She was born July 15, 1924, to Reno and Helen Gense in Ellsworth.She lived most of her childhood in Rock Elm with her parents and sisters, Irene (Pat Lovell) and Beverly (Jilk).She attended Rock Elm grade school and graduated in the Class of 1942 from Spring Valley High School.She married Earl Murphy on June 30, 1942.After he returned from the service, they farmed for 27 years in El Paso.She worked as a nursing assistant at Lansing Nursing Home, the Piety Nursing Home and as a homemaker for Pierce County Human Services for 12-and-a-half years.After her retirement, she worked part-time at the Ellsworth Senior Center.The couple enjoyed traveling to many areas of the U.S. and Mexico before his death in 1982.She then settled in Ellsworth close to her family.She became an active fan of the Ellsworth Panther sports teams and was very proud of her grandchildren's participation.She enjoyed many activities of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.She attended concerts, dance recitals, football, hockey, basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball games and watched them ride horses, always supporting them to be the best they could be.Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the joy of her life.She is survived by: her sisters, Pat and Beverly; four children, John, Chuck, Mary and Nancy; three daughters-in-law, Judy (Olson) Murphy, Diane (Knutson) Murphy and Jane (Deiss) Murphy; two sons-in-law, Rollin McHardy and Maximilian Locher; 11 grandchildren and grandchildren in-law; 12 great-grandchildren; close family friends, Kim Pinske, Janelle Wesloh and Jeremy, Lisa Nelson and Tyler; nieces and nephews; and her friends at the Dreyfus apartments.She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; and son, William.
