BiographyVincent E. Rangel
...Vincent E. Rangel was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico and came to Chicago in December 1948 at the age of three to Chicago's Mexican community located on Halsted and the Near West Side.
Educated at Our Lady of Pompeii Grammar school and then at St. Ignatius College Prep class of 1963.He continued in the Jesuit tradition at Loyola University of Chicago where he studied Marketing and Finance with a BBA in June 1967.He
was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army where he
added Airborne and Ranger designations before being sent to Viet Nam in 1968-1969 as a combat unit commander.
civilian life he
has used his
degree to hold a variety of positions to include the Director of Marketing for a national railway related firm, and Vice-President of a manufacturing firm with a national clientele.He
has been in insurance and financial services for 18 years with affiliations to top brokers in the Chicago land area.He
has a Series 7 designation and has clients in Mexico along with a variety of clients in Chicago land to include the excess liability coverage for the City of Chicago and the County of Cook.He
is also actively involved with many local groups to include: St. Ignatius College Prep golf chairman, Pilsen Y.M.C.A.
and Gen.Woods Boys & Girls Club.He is also a member of State's Attorney Dick Devine's Latino Advisory Board as well as his Juvenile Council.He is a Past President of the Chicago Azteca Lions Club as well as the Mexican American Chamber of Commerce of Illinois where he is the Chairman Emeritus.He also sits on the board of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for the Midwest.
