After nearly a decade as an IT Business Consultant, designing and implementing improvements on existing business systems, Vincent decided to follow his passion by starting and owning a successful home remodeling company.
It seemed only fitting that Vincent combined his two experiences into the one thing that seemed to be missing: an architectural design firm which works hand-in-hand to create beautiful designs, hassle free building and satisfied clients.
Thus, Intellectual Homes, LLC was created.
Vincent has enjoyed the construction environment since his childhood, working with multiple generations of his family on home improvement projects.
This trade grew along with him to the Massachusetts Maritime Academy where he learned to maintain mechanical systems, steam engines, plumbing and, yes, even the ship's kitchen and waste systems.
Initially looking for a career in the Marine Environmental field, Vincent earned his Masters of Environmental Science degree from The Johns Hopkins University.
But after applying his degrees for a short time it was clear that owning his own company was his true calling.
Six years after creating an award-winning remodeling and construction firm, A.V. Remodeling & Construction, also located in McLean, Virginia, Vincent created Intellectual Homes, LLC, where he now has the opportunity to leverage his extensive experience in consulting, environmental management, mechanical evaluation and planning when working with the architects and designers on new custom homes, additions or renovations to ensure a seamless process for all of his clients.

Vincent D'Avena, the owner of A.V. Remodeling & Construction, was awarded Rotary International District 7610's Business of the Year Award at their annual conference for his company's annual holiday charity program, Food for Trees.
Food for Trees will be in its fifth year of selling trees to collect food for those in need during the holidays this year.
The program began in 2009 when Vincent D'Avena wanted to find a way to give back to the community, and the holidays seemed like the perfect time.
Vincent thought if he could purchase Christmas trees directly from the grower, at cost, he could pass that savings along to everyone he knew and in return ask them to make a food donation when they picked up their tree.
"We are very thankful to the McLean Rotary for their participation in the program and for helping us to spread the word about the program," said Vincent D'Avena.
"The response and support of the program has been wonderful.
We hope to triple our orders and donations this year," added D'Avena.

In honor of National Take Your Son or Daughter to Work Day, Vincent D'Avena, Owner of A.V. Remodeling and Construction, proudly invited his son Michael to spend a day learning about the renovation and remodeling business.
The day started off stopping by the current remodeling projects in progress, meeting with the home owners and checking out the job sites.
After vising the active sites, Vinny took Michael on a couple of Sales Calls to meet one of our previous clients as well as to meet a new client with a project starting up next week.
In return, we pass the savings onto those who are already planning to purchase trees for their homes," explained Vincent D'Avena, owner of A.V. Remodeling and Construction.
Food for Trees provides discounted Frasier Fir trees, pine wreaths and roping at cost, in exchange for a pledge of $35 in food donations.
We are currently taking pre-orders for trees and food donation pledges through Monday, November 26th.
"The response and support for the program has been tremendous in the past, and we hope to triple our donation this year," added D'Avena.
