...An award winning journalist, Vida Urbonas is thrilled to be working in her home state of Colorado and at the station she grew up watching.
Vida's family moved to Denver when she
was 6 months old and she
quickly engaged in Colorado's highly active lifestyle.Her
dad, who volunteered on the Loveland Ski Patrol, taught her
to ski at 2 years old!After earning her bachelor's degree in Business Administration from University of Colorado at Boulder, she describes her first television job at KREY/KREX-TV in Montrose, CO, as a "one-woman newsroom" where she anchored, reported, edited and produced the daily newscast herself.She
then moved to an anchor position at KJCT-TV
in Grand Junction, CO.She also worked as a primary anchor at WWSB-TV in Sarasota, FL, as a reporter and anchor at KMSP-TV in Minneapolis/St.
Paul, MN, and at WCCO-TV's satellite station.Vida
has received many awards for her
work, including a Florida Associated Press Investigative Reporting Award and an Outstanding Achievement Award for a reporting series from the Society of Professional Journalists' Florida Chapter
also received numerous Associated Press awards including several for "Best Newscast."She
either won or was a finalist for "Favorite TV Personality" in Sarasota Magazine
hard work as a journalist has earned her
the honor to come back home and work in what she
calls "the best news market in the country."She
has always been very dedicated to her
community and spends much of her

husband Kurt are the proud parents of twins, Grace and Kurt.
