Victoria Aarons Victoria Aarons is Professor of English and Chair of the Department at Trinity University, San Antonio, TX, where she teaches courses on American Jewish and Holocaust Literature. She received her Ph.D. from The University of California, Berkeley. She is the author of A Measure of Memory: Storytelling and Identity in American Jewish Fiction (University of Georgia Press, 1996), and What Happened to Abraham?: Reinventing the Covenant in American Jewish Fiction (University of Delaware Press, 2005), both of which received the CHOICE Award for Outstanding Academic Books. Her work has appeared in a number of scholarly journals, including Studies in American Literature , Modern Jewish Studies, Contemporary Literature, Studies in American Jewish Literature, and Shofar. Aarons has published essays and book chapters in a variety of volumes and reference works, and she is a contributor to Holocaust Literature: An Encyclopedia of Writers and Their Work . She is a member of the Edward Lewis Wallant Prize Committee, an award given annually to Jewish American authors of fiction.
