Victor Moses signed for Chelsea FC from Wigan Athletic on 24 August 2012.?
Victor Moses signed from Wigan Athletic on 24 August 2012. After establishing himself with the Championship side, Moses transferred to Wigan at the end of January 2010, shortly after Palace's financial problems had forced them into adminstration, and quickly settled into life in the Barclays Premier League. In total he played 74 league games for the Latics, following 58 for Crystal Palace. At international level, Moses appeared for England from schoolboy up to Under 21, but has opted to represent Nigeria at senior level, and made his debut in February 2012 against Rwanda. Moses was an unused substitute during our 4-1 UEFA Super Cup defeat at the hands of Atletico Madrid in Monaco, before coming on as a second-half substitute in successive league games against Queens Park Rangers and Stoke City. He made his first start for the club in the 6-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Capital One Cup, and capped a solid display with his first goal for the Blues, heading home to complete the scoring on the night. A week later he was handed his European debut, starting in the 4-0 win against FC Nordsjaelland before being replaced by Eden Hazard midway through the second half. Having impressed in the 5-4 Capital One Cup win against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge, Moses was handed his first league start three days later for the visit to Swansea. He appeared to have secured all three points for the Blues by giving us the lead midway through the second half with a close-range header, before the home side equalised in the closing stages. Four days later, however, Moses was the hero when he headed home a stoppage-time winner to secure a 3-2 Champions League win over Shakhtar Donetsk. Having also scored an important goal in an FA Cup third-round win away at Southampton, he then travelled to South Africa to represent Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations and was outstanding as his nation won the tournament for the first time since 1994. Qualification for the knockout stage was in doubt before Moses won and scored two late penalties in the third group game. He was also involved in the final's only goal against Burkina Faso. Chelsea set to sign Victor Moses
Chelsea set to sign Victor Moses Chelsea are set to sign Nigeria forward Victor Moses from Wigan after the European champions finally met the Latics' asking price. The Blues had seen four bids for Moses rejected by Wigan chairman Dave Whelan during the course of a fractious transfer saga that had lasted since the end of last season. "The club can confirm that after four unsuccessful bids from Chelsea for Victor Moses, a fifth bid has today finally met the valuation and terms set by Wigan Athletic and been accepted. The player has been given permission to speak with Chelsea," a statement on Wigan's website confirmed. It has been reported that Wigan were demanding around £9 million for Moses, who joined the Latics from Crystal Palace in 2010 and has risen to prominence after a series of impressive displays last season.

Moses won't sign Latics deal
Victor Moses has told Wigan he no longer wishes to extend his contract at the DW Stadium, the forward's agent has revealed. Moses: Looks likely to leave Wigan Moses: Looks likely to leave Wigan Moses, who joined Latics in a £2.5million move from Crystal Palace two years ago, has just one more season remaining on his contract at the DW Stadium. Moses has been inspirational over the past month as Latics have enjoyed a resurgence to pull clear of the Premier League relegation zone. Finnigan points out there is no animosity between Moses and the club but the player has simply decided not to renew. He said: "It doesn't mean he doesn't like his manager - he chose Wigan over other clubs. "Martinez is a tactical genius and an excellent coach, and they are Victor's words. Moses, who represented England at under-age levels but pledged his international future to the country of his birth earlier this year, could now be targeted by other clubs this summer. The Spaniard, speaking at a press conference to preview Saturday's game at Fulham, said: "I always felt Victor Moses would one day fulfil his potential and when he does that he will be a top, top player. "We are all delighted to have him developing as he is doing. "All I want is Victor to be happy, to be able to develop.
