Vickie Venne is celebrating 30 years as a genetic counselor, having worked in prenatal, pediatric, and laboratory settings before joining the Huntsman Cancer Institute. In addition to patient care, she taught for the California Department of Education and is a faculty member at the University of Utah Genetic Counseling Graduate Program. She is an active volunteer in her professional and local communities, including service as president of the National Society of Genetic Counselors and the local affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. She lives in Salt Lake City and spends weekends hiking, reading, or quilting, depending on the weather.
