Five has named Vanessa Brookman as the channel's Deputy Director of Acquisitions. (THURS)
Brookman, currently Channel 4's and E4's Deputy Editor of US series, is set to join Five next month.She will report directly into Jay Kandola, who was recently appointed Director of Acquisitions.
Five's Director of Programmes, Dan Chambers, said: "Brookman is a rising star and I am delighted we have been able to attract her to the channel.
Vanessa Brookman said: "I'm thrilled that I will be able to play a part in building on Five's already fantastic reputation for showing the best in acquired programming."
Brookman joined Channel 4 in 2000, she was promoted to deputy editor of US Series in October 2003.Previously she worked at Columbia Tristar and Mayfair Televsion Entertainment.

LONDON -- The Five channel has upped deputy acquisitions controller Vanessa Brookman to be its new acquisitions head effective immediately.She replaces former department chief Jay Kandola, who quit last year to join ITV.Brookman -- who will represent the channel at this year's L.A. Screenings and report to Five program head Dan Chambers -- is charged with building on Five's portfolio of acquisitions, which currently includes "CSI," "House," "Prison Break" and "Grey's Anatomy."
Brookman joined Five last year from Channel 4, where she was editor, U.S. series.She joined Channel 4 in 1999 as editorial administrator, film, from Columbia Tristar Television International, where she had been sales assistant to the director of sales.
