Pam Gaber and Val Woelfel Dr. Pamela gaber and Ms. Valerie Woelfel are uniquely qualified to write Daily Life in Bible Times. Pam studies archaeology at Harvard University and Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Val studied art and archaeology at Augsburg College in Minneapolis as well as the University of Minnesota and the University of London. Pam and Val have worked together in archaeology since 1997. Val has been an archaeological illustrator since 1988. She is based out of St. Paul, Minnesota, but spends her summers traveling to different archaeological sites to work as an illustrator and excavator, usually in countries around the Mediterranean. To create the illustrations in Daily Life, Val used a combination of traditional media and computer graphics. The photographs come for Val and Pam's years in the field.
