Val Levitan began his career in 1982 as an operator of amusement machines in Canada with his father.
Together, they founded JVL (www.jvl.ca) in 1984, a family-owned venture that would go on to become an industry pioneer and leading manufacturer in touch-screen gaming entertainment. As a separate venture in the early 1990s, Mr. Levitan co-founded CashCode® Co. Inc. (www.cashcode.com), a Canadian company specializing in banknote validation technology. CashCode ultimately grew to a globally recognized manufacturer designing ground-breaking currency validation technology. With 350 employees, an international sales network spanning over 17 countries, and 35 patents, CashCode was sold in 2006 to Crane Co. (NYSE: CR). In 1998, in an effort to establish common product development platforms and protocols for gaming equipment manufacturers, suppliers and operators, Mr. Levitan played a key role in co-founding the Gaming Standards Association (GSA) (www.gamingstandards.com) in Las Vegas, Nevada. Upon its inception, Levitan was elected as one of six directors and was subsequently re-elected to the board six more times (resigning in 2004). In 2003, Mr. Levitan became the President and CEO of Talon International Development Inc., a private, Canadian-based, real estate development company. Talon proudly developed Trump International Hotel & Tower Toronto® (www.trumptoronto.ca), a joint venture with The Trump Organization. The $500-million, 60-story hotel and tower is now a Toronto landmark and has contributed to the ever-emerging landscape of the city of Toronto. Mr. Levitan currently serves as the company's President where he continues to focus on the vision of the company, exploring new markets and working with JVL team in developing new and innovative products.
