The Atlanta SurgiCenter's Medical Director, Tyrone C. Malloy is the primary provider of our Late Second Trimester and Genetic/Fetal Anomaly procedures.
Dr. Malloy a native of Brooklyn, New York attended Howard University and graduated from New York University with a BA in Biology.
After graduating from NYU, he worked as a Research Assistant in Endocrinology at the Rockefeller Institute in NYC.
He received his medical degree from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Both Internship and Residency in OB/GYN were completed at The Walter Reed Army Medical Center
, Washington, D.C.
Dr. Malloy served as a Staff Physician at Moncrief Army Hospital at Fort Jackson, in Columbia S.C. before beginning private practice in Metro Atlanta.
He is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologist.
In May 1993, Dr. Malloy received a Law Degree from Georgia State University and is a Fellow in the American College of Legal Medicine.
He works as an attorney in the health care arena while he continues to maintain his private practice.
is actively involved in Clinical Research Trials, and was one of the Principal Investigators on the Mifepristone (RU-486) Studies which led to the FDA approval of this drug for use in Medical Abortions.
Dr. Malloy is an active member of the National Abortion Federation, The National Coalition of Abortion Providers, NARAL Pro-Choice GA, Georgians for Choice, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, and many other medical and legal organizations promoting a woman's right to quality health care.

Dr. Malloy has worked on the cutting edge of Second Trimester Abortion medicine and was the first physician in Metro Atlanta to offer safe Second Trimester Abortions up to 20 weeks in one day.
Dr. Malloy has been providing abortion services at the Atlanta SurgiCenter for more than 19 years and has served as our Medical Director for over 12 years.
He serves on the faculty of the Emory University School of Medicine in the Department of OB/GYN, where his primary responsibility is to train the Fellows in the Family Planning Program to perform Second Trimester abortions.
