Tyrone C Malloy, MD,JD. is the medical director and Surgeon at the Atlanta Center for Women's Choice.
Dr. Malloy has been a practicing physician in the Metro Atlanta Area for over 30 years. He is a Board Certified OB-GYN and has extensive experience in pregnancy termination. Dr. Malloy received his undergraduate training at New York University. He received his medical degree at John's Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Malloy completed his Internship and Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC and served as Staff Physician at Moncrief Army Hospital at Fort Jackson before beginning private practice in the Metro Atlanta area more than 30 years ago. Dr. Malloy is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and serves as Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor at the Emory University School of Medicine, Department of OB/GYN. In Addition to his expertise in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Malloy is the Founder and CEO of The Soapstone Center for Clinical Research where he is engaged in research for pharmaceutical organizations. The Atlanta SurgiCenter's Medical Director, Tyrone C. Malloy is the primary provider of our Late Second Trimester and Genetic/Fetal Anomaly procedures.
Dr. Malloy a native of Brooklyn, New York attended Howard University and graduated from New York University with a BA in Biology. After graduating from NYU, he worked as a Research Assistant in Endocrinology at the Rockefeller Institute in NYC. He received his medical degree from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Both Internship and Residency in OB/GYN were completed at The Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, D.C. Dr. Malloy served as a Staff Physician at Moncrief Army Hospital at Fort Jackson, in Columbia S.C. before beginning private practice in Metro Atlanta. He is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologist. In May 1993, Dr. Malloy received a Law Degree from Georgia State University and is a Fellow in the American College of Legal Medicine. He works as an attorney in the health care arena while he continues to maintain his private practice. Dr. Malloy is actively involved in Clinical Research Trials, and was one of the Principal Investigators on the Mifepristone (RU-486) Studies which led to the FDA approval of this drug for use in Medical Abortions. Dr. Malloy is an active member of the National Abortion Federation, The National Coalition of Abortion Providers, NARAL Pro-Choice GA, Georgians for Choice, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, and many other medical and legal organizations promoting a woman's right to quality health care. With vision and dedication Dr. Malloy has guided the Atlanta SurgiCenter and our Late Second Trimester Abortion program to accommodate the needs of all women in the United States and abroad. Dr. Malloy has worked on the cutting edge of Second Trimester Abortion medicine and was the first physician in Metro Atlanta to offer safe Second Trimester Abortions up to 20 weeks in one day. Dr. Malloy has been providing abortion services at the Atlanta SurgiCenter for more than 19 years and has served as our Medical Director for over 12 years. He serves on the faculty of the Emory University School of Medicine in the Department of OB/GYN, where his primary responsibility is to train the Fellows in the Family Planning Program to perform Second Trimester abortions. The Late Second Trimester and Genetic/Fetal Anomaly Programs at Atlanta SurgiCenter are direct results of Dr. Malloy's surgical ability, guidance and dedication to the needs of all women seeking abortion services.

He is also principal investigator and CEO of the Soapstone Center for Clinical Research. Dr. Malloy was a Martin Luther King Scholar and a Distinguished Military Graduate, receiving his BA in biology from New York University. Between undergraduate and medical school, he was a research associate at the Rockefeller Institute in the department of endocrinology. He was a Health Professions Scholar and earned his medical degree at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He served his internship and residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Dr. Malloy became a board-certified OB/GYN in 1985. He received a law degree from Georgia State University in 1993.

He serves on the faculty of the Emory University School of Medicine, Department of OB/GYN. Dr. Malloy was a Martin Luther King Scholar and was a Distinguished Military Graduate, receiving his BA in biology from New York University. He was a Health Professions Scholar, and received his medical degree the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He served his residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C. Dr. Malloy became a Board Certified OB/GYN in 1985. "My goal as Chief of Staff is to continue to support the medical staff and provide the DeKalb community with outstanding medical services," said Dr. Malloy.
