Tse Ming Tam joined United Way of The Bay Area in September 2006 as the Vice President of Community Investment.
Mr. Tam manages the Financial Stability Partnership portfolio which focuses on helping households reduce debts, build income, and build and protect assets.
Prior to joining the United Way, Mr. Tam was a Program Director at the National Economic Development and Law Center (NEDLC), prior to the organization's name change.
While at NEDLC
, Mr. Tam
helped transform the organization's sector demonstration project into a field of practice, with over 400 practitioners and investment by the Department of Labor
He also helped create the National Network of Sector Partners (NNSP), a national membership-based organization and project of the Insight Center, that provides information and resources to the sector field.
Prior to joining the Insight Center, Mr. Tam served as the Acting Director for Chinese for Affirmative Action (CAA), a nonprofit civil rights advocacy organization promoting equal access to housing, education, employment, contracting and public services.
