...Trent D. Bocan has been named superintendent of the Office for Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Greensburg, Bishop Lawrence E. Brandt has announced.
, who was raised in McKeesport
, Allegheny County, and lived in Delmont, will assume his
new post Monday.He
will direct 16 elementary, one middle and two high schools throughout Armstrong, Fayette, Indiana and Westmoreland counties. Bocan, a graduate of McKeesport Area High School, holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a master's degree in education from the University of Pittsburgh.He has a principal's certification from Temple University in Philadelphia, and superintendent's certification from Marywood University, near Scranton. "Trent Bocan has outstanding professional credentials and a commitment to continue his educational leadership career in a Catholic school system," Bishop Brandt said.
...For the past two years, Bocan has served as superintendent of the Lehighton Area School District in northeastern Pennsylvania.Prior to that, he was employed as superintendent of the Line Mountain School District in central Pennsylvania, principal of Mansfield Junior/Senior High School and assistant principal of Troy Area Senior High School in northern Pennsylvania, and as a counselor at Dallastown Area Middle School in south central Pennsylvania.

described himself as "an educational leader who is committed to community involvement, positive leadership and uncompromising integrity." In addition to his high school positions, he has also taught at the University of Scranton, Wilkes University, Susquehanna University and Keystone College.He has also served as a parish-based religious education instructor. wife, Pam, a native of Charleroi, have four children: Dakota, 12; Tucker, 10; Riley, 8; and Rory, 7.
