Tracy Logan, director of Business Objects Community, Business Objects, said that her company gets involved in community for two reasons: First, because they have a responsibility as corporate citizens to add to the health of the community in which they live, but also because they derive huge business benefits from it.
According to Logan, Business Objects is in the war for talent, and the company's community involvement is a significant factor in why people come and work for Business Objects and why they stay.
Although Business Objects supports several not-for-profits, Logan said there are only two that have reached a high enough status to be considered partners, because they not only share the same values and goals as Business Objects, but also add value to the corporation.
