"In order to keep membership strong and maintain membership, we feel it's important to invest not only in the golf course, but the facilities as well," said Tracy Fraus, who worked at Metropolis Country Club before taking over as general manager at Hampshire last October.
Fraus' arrival coincided with the club breaking ground on the project, which includes a new clubhouse and pro shop, bunker renovations, new greens, a new irrigation system and the reconfiguration of several holes. Fraus
said the club also addressed "some drainage issues."
The club, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary, also added a tennis court, a snack bar with terrace dining and changing facilities at the pool. The price tag for the project is $9 million.
"We're also planning on putting in a lesson room with computerized equipment so people can work on their swings in the winter and during inclement weather," Fraus
