New Member Profile - Tori Campbell
Tori Campbell Tori Campbell Tori Campbell recently moved to Kirkland after living for many years in the town Danville, in the San Francisco Bay Area. She was a professional broadcaster for 27 years, including eight years as an anchor, reporter and producer in radio and then 19 years as anchor at KTVU-TV. She is now planning to start a new venture as a free-lance on-camera talent and voice-over artist. She's excited about meeting other dynamic energetic bright women at AWC and appreciates all the advice and guidance she's received so far from this group. Her husband has worked at Microsoft for seven years in the global education marketing field. They have two sons; one is working as an economic analyst in St Louis and the other is a photography major at NYU. Tori's interests include traveling, reading historical fiction, plant-based cooking and trying a variety of fitness classes. Tori joined AWC Seattle in January 2016.

As a white woman, I don't have to put up with the attitudes of contestants on "Big Brother" who toss around slurs about their African-American housemates and whisper that Asians should shut up and "go make some rice."Â As a white woman, I look not so different from KTVU reporter Tori Campbell, who on Friday unblinkingly rattled off a series of juvenile, insulting fake names for the pilots of Asiana crash from a teleprompter, who didn't pause for even a moment to question their authenticity.
That's white privilege in action for you, right there.

Campbell read the names during KTVU's noon broadcast on Friday, after which the news station apologized on air and on its website.
