Assumption High senior defensive lineman Jair Joseph has committed to play college football at Nicholls State University.
Joseph, who is listed at 6-foot-4, 280-pounds, played at nose tackle for the Mustangs this year.

Also, Paine said senior running back Dontrez Wiggins has an offer to play at the University of Arkansas-Monticello.
Paine said Arkansas-Monticello, which is coached by Thibodaux native Hud Jackson, was the only offer for Wiggins (6-0, 180).
While most recruits are still in the final stages of their recruiting, one local athlete has already completed the process.
South Terrebonne senior center/long snapper David-Michael Carrell graduated early from high school and has already enrolled for the spring semester at Southern University of Baton Rouge.
Carrell (6-foot, 245) will get to participate in spring drills this year with the Jaguars.
Here are other area players, who according to their high school coaches, have received college interest but have not yet been offered.
Trojans coach Keith Menard said center Cullen Smith (5-10, 265) has received some interest.
Braves coach Daron Franklin said quarterback/slot back Todd Adkins (5-10, 195) and wide receiver/slot back Ritney Coleman (5-11, 175) have some interest.
Skains said tight end Hunter Thibodeaux (6-2, 230) has some interest from Division II schools.
Tigers coach Gary Hill said defensive backs Jourdan Quigg (6-1, 185) and Tre Gauno (6-0, 165), along with running back Justin Theriot (5-10, 185) and linebacker Charles Clark (5-10, 220) have gotten some looks.
Tigers coach Chris Dugas said quarterback/free safety Peyton Bonvillain (5-11, 185), defensive lineman Marquis Garman (6-0, 270) and wide receiver Elray Duncan (6-2, 165) have garnered some college interest.
Washington said senior athlete Justen Harris (5-10, 160) recently qualified academically and has received looks, and senior defensive back Darrius Neville (5-11, 187) has some interest from colleges.
South Terrebonne assistant coach/defensive coordinator David McCormick said several senior Gators players are receiving interest, including running back Cristian Wallis (Air Force Academy, Southeast Missouri and several junior colleges), defensive lineman Gage Ross (Southeast Missouri, Nicholls and Louisiana College), defensive lineman Pete LeBoeuf (Southeastern Louisiana and Southeast Missouri), cornerback Devin Harding and defensive lineman Randall Norman (both Highland Community College) and offensive lineman Dyon Perque (Louisiana College).
Assumption also had two first places on the girls side - Gabby Rivere in the 97-pound class (495 total) and Aunjel Clifton in the 148-pound class (605 total) - while six others took second or third.
