Dr. Kang's primary research interest is international capital markets. In recent years, his projects have focused on financial accounting, auditing, cross-listing, and cultural issues in capital markets around the world. He has published numerous research articles in journals such as The Accounting Review, Journal of International Business Studies, Accounting Horizons, Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Finance, European Accounting Review, Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, Management International Review, Journal of International Accounting Research.

Dr. Kang has taught accounting and international business courses at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels to both traditional and executive students. Prior to joining McMaster, Dr. Kang was the Arthur Andersen & Co. Alumni Centennial Professor and the Wilton T. Anderson Endowed Chair Professor of Accounting at Oklahoma State University, Assistant Professor of Accounting at Florida Atlantic University and Singapore Management University. He has also held visiting appointments at McGill University, Sophia University (Japan), ITESM (Mexico), University of Sydney (Australia), Chulalongkorn University (Thailand) and Xiamen University (China).
Dr. Kang served as President of the International Accounting Section of the American Accounting Association (2011-2012) and a Vice-President of International Association for Accounting Researchers and Educators (2010-2012). He serves on several editorial boards of academic journals and is an Associate Editor of the Journal of International Accounting Research (a Section Journal of the American Accounting Association). He has served on and chaired a number of committees at the American Accounting Association as well as various committees at the University, College, and Department levels.

Tony Kang is the Wilton T. Anderson Endowed Chair Professor of Accounting at Oklahoma State University. He holds an MBA from McGill University and a PhD in accounting from the University of Illinois. He has previously taught at the University of Illinois, McGill University, Singapore Management University and Florida Atlantic University. He has held short-term visiting positions at Sophia University in Tokyo, ITESM in Mexico, and the University of Sydney. His teaching interests are in financial accounting and he has a broad research interest in international capital markets and auditing issues.
Professor Kang is the incoming President of the International Accounting Section of the American Accounting Association (2011-2012), and has served the Section in various capacities, including the Treasurer (2010-2011) and an Annual Meeting Co-Chair (2008-2010). He also served as a Scientific Committee Co-Chair for 2010 IAAER World Congress in Singapore.
He has published a number of research articles in journals such as The Accounting Review, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Finance, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, and Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, among others.
