Tony Arsenault of Falcon Charters to jump to the lead in the Homer Jackpot Halibut Derby.
After a 30-minute fight, Arsenault
gaffed the lunker and shot it with a 410 shotgun a couple times to subdue it.
Both Olson and Arsenault
were surprised at its size when the fish was weighed, Olson said.
If the fish does win it will mark the second time in three years that Arsenault
has put anglers on the winning fish.Arsenault
steered Nevada,s Don Hanks to a 352.6-pound fish in 2004.
