The session will feature Dr. Tom Urbanik, Principal Investigator for the 2nd edition of the upcoming FHWA Signal Timing Manual, as well as Kevin Lee, P.E. and Senior Engineer, who will provide a series of case studies on successful planning, design, and implementation of transit signal priority, queue jump and bypass lanes treatments.
Tom Urbanik, P.E., PhD Senior Principal Engineer, Kittelson & Associates, Inc., Round Rock, TX Tom has more than 40 years’ experience in traffic signals and traffic signal systems, including how to achieve the maximum system performance consistent with local policy objectives. He has developed techniques used to analyze transit signal priority, arterial flow, intersection traffic operations, and optimizing vehicle (including bus, LRT and trucks) movement. He is principal investigator on the NCHRP 3-103 update to the Traffic Signal Timing Manual.
