Beginning at age 17 with the Star-Banner, Tom has worked in media for over 20 years.
As a Sportscaster for NBC affiliates in both Virginia & SW Florida, he
covered major pro & college sports and won two (2) Edward R. Murrow awards.

currently serves as an ESPN college basketball TV & radio Play-by-Play man for Florida Gulf Coast University, as well as the College of Central Florida

Tom James joined Benefit Advisors team in the Autumn of 2012. Holding a Florida 2-15 License in Life, Health, & Variable Annuities, he specializes in small and large group employee benefits out of the Ocala office.
Born & raised in Ocala/Marion County, Tom is a graduate from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio/Television Communications. He enjoys helping Central Florida businesses safely navigate the ever-changing world of Employee Benefits.

He is a proud member of the 2013 Chamber Economic Partnership Ambassadors, a 14-year member of the Ocala Elks Lodge, a radio & television play-by-play broadcaster for college sports, the Voice of Marion County High School Football on WOCA radio, & a regular contributor to the "Voice of Ocala with Buddy Martin" radio show on WOCA.
